Celebrating the Future Campaign

Building a legacy…

Dream with us on increasing the impact on the next generation of college students for Christ through pioneering new campuses (you can check out our target campuses HERE) and ensuring the ability of meeting places.

Our Vision // Why hats?

The hats are prayer points representing colleges we are on and campuses yet to be planted. Chi Alpha meets throughout the Great Plains on 56 in all!  They are a combination of public and private colleges and universities as well as the recent addition of a handful of community colleges. We envision planting 6 new campuses in the next 3 years and providing seed money to help ministries secure property near campus. Check out our vision video here.

Why Chi Alpha? // College is a transformative period in a young person’s life.

Choices made during these crucial years set the course of a person’s life for many years to come.  Tim came to Mankato State and was both spiritually lost and searching for a place to belong.  Not long after arriving on campus, his life was TRANSFORMED by the presence and power of Jesus Christ!

Tim would go on to become a small group leader, student president, and would leave his career path behind to become the Chi Alpha Director at Minnesota State Mankato with his wife Rachel, who came to MSU already having a relationship with Jesus, but the whole reason she stayed at MSU was because of getting plugged into Chi Alpha.

Chi Alpha exists to transform the university, the marketplace, and the world!

Tim came to Christ during his time as an undergrad student, and Rachel made her faith her own and lived it out at Mankato State under the leadership of Mike Amiot.  Click here to view a video on how Chi Alpha can impact a student’s life for Jesus – just like it did for Tim and Rachel!

Our Campaign Goals - $250,000

We Need to Add More Hats to the Wall!  Becoming a recognized student group on campus is challenging.  “Year 0” is the time used by campus pioneers to set up a campus ministry.  This is a crucial year and sets the foundation for a successful Year 1 when student activities begin.  The cost to support a ministry during Year 0 is approximately $7500 per campus

Great Plains Chi Alpha has targeted 6 campuses to reach.  Our goal is to raise $50,000 to pioneer new campuses in the next three (3) years.  While campus locations can change as God leads, click here to see th current list of campuses targeted for pioneering efforts.

We hope that you will consider joining our Prayer Support Team and praying for:

  • campus missionaries.

  • favor with campus administrations to be designated as a campus student organization (which allows us to meet on campus and be identified as a student group in campus materials).

  • open hearts of students to hear the Gospel.

Can Christian Ministries Survive on College Campuses?

These days – it is definitely a challenge!  It is harder and harder for Bible-believing Christian organizations to maintain recognized student status on campuses.  Most college administrations have a worldview that is antagonistic to the truth of the Gospel.  This makes it even more crucial that Chi Alpha ministries remain vibrant and impactful within college communities and the lives of the student.

Ensuring that students can gather on or near campus is critical to maintaining a strong Chi Alpha ministry.  These locations need to be easily accessible to students.  When the day comes that colleges refuse to allow Chi Alpha organizations to meet on campus – Chi Alpha needs to have alternative meeting locations available.

For those ministries that cannot partner with a nearby church to utilize their facilities, purchasing a building may be their best alternative.  For those campus ministries, we want to assist them with their down payment by providing them with a grant in the amount of $20,000 to $25,000We are looking to raise funds in the amount of $200,000 to assist up to 10 campuses in the future (or approximately 20% of the current Great Plains campus ministries).
